The Art of Being Alone, starring
Dawn Olivieri for Fashionising. One of the things that
Elsa and I kept in mind for this shoot was a constant juxtaposition of the brightness and darkness. With these photos, it was particularly about the contrast of brightness in the clothes against the darkness and apprehensiveness of what was going on in the photos. A favorite choice of location, the empty movie theatre. It made for the perfect setting for a gripping performance of solitude, adding yet another layer to the already multi-textured narrative.
Dawn is so intriguing - both in the photos and in person. So intriguing, that I made the attempt to peel back as many layers as I could in a quick interview, titled
