On one of our last nights in New York, we sauntered over to Times Square for a quick spot with VH1 before heading out to dinner with local friends and family we had been neglecting throughout the madness that was New York Fashion Week. Finally warm enough, I wore what might be my favorite dress of all time, a trench dress from Stella McCartney.
I think everyone should have a good, quality trench dress in their wardrobe. Sharp, feminine and polished, it is both classic and forward, with the perfect amount of understated sex appeal. Another thing I've been very into (but must be noted, can be tricky to master) is having the hem of your dress overlap with the top of your boots. It's a great way to push boundaries and keeps over-the-knee boots from looking too oversexed, lowering the risk of potential solicitations when lingering at a street corner, like we did when taking these shots. While I usually avoid Times Square due to its overpopulated, oversized nature, a slight drizzle turned it into something quite beautiful, scattering the usual crowd with lights reflecting off the sleek wet concrete. My favorite visit yet.
