Every year I forget that Fall is my favorite season. Every October, I remember. It's not just that extra quietness that fill the spaces between the ambient sounds of the street, and it's not because hot chocolate and popcorn starts to sound more and more like a reasonable snack (to have every day).
I have vivid dreams of suede, cashmere and wool. The inners of my eyelids dance with images of trench coats, leather pants, sleek gloves, faux fur hats and thigh-high boots. These are all-consuming types of dreams - ones from which I jolt awake with my hand half out in action, reaching toward the iPad mini, ready to scroll until I can bring my dream pieces to fruition.
We're already working a few cornerstones in to our wardrobes, and borrowing from each other when there's something missing, but there is so much more ground to cover. This year, I'm taking it slowly and building with pieces I know that will work season after season. I'm refining my list to what I'm calling necessary indulgences. Because nothing feels as necessary or indulgent than adding that perfect, luxe piece to your rotation. Am I right?
